Training ‘Simulation for a Modern Community’ was held on 18-20 December at International Black Sea University.
Students who participated in the training from the faculty of Education and humanities and Social Sciences gained a deeper understanding of society; they also reflected on their own behavior and other members of society through a seminar “More Community! Debate and Negotiate for Interests and Compromises”.
The CIVIC-Institute for international education, which organised the training at IBSU, is currently conducting a simulation game and workshop series in Ukraine, Georgia and Armenia. The project was organized together with the German Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (ifa) funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
In the seminar, participants were exposed to interactive methods which derive from European Civic Education. The simulation method provides first-hand experience in advocating interests within society. Instructed by qualified trainers students practiced decision-making approaches and learned how to reach a well-informed, independent point of view on the basis of democracy.
